Karayana Services is a self-drive car rental aggregator connecting verified DriveGuests with trusted RideHosts for local and outstation travel across Delhi NCR and North India.
Q. Does Karayana own the vehicles listed on the platform?
No. Karayana operates as an aggregator platform. Vehicles are owned and maintained by independent RideHosts.
Q. What documents are required to rent a self-drive car?
A valid Driving Licence and Aadhaar Card are mandatory. Additional verification documents may be requested depending on the vehicle category.
Q. What is the minimum age to rent a self-drive car?
The minimum age requirement is 21 years with a valid Driving Licence.
Q. Is a security deposit required?
Yes. A refundable security deposit ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 may apply depending on the vehicle category and customer profile.
Q. When will my security deposit be refunded?
Security deposits are generally refunded within 3–5 business days after successful vehicle inspection and clearance of any outstanding dues.

Karayana offers Hatchbacks, Sedans, SUVs, MPVs, Premium Cars, Automatic Cars, and 7-Seater Vehicles including Swift, FRONX, Brezza, Ertiga, Scorpio N, Thar 4x4, XUV700, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Tata Safari, and more.
Q. Do you provide self-drive cars for outstation trips?
Yes. We provide self-drive cars for destinations including Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Nainital, Jaipur, Agra, Ayodhya, Manali, Shimla, Kasol, and Spiti Valley.
Q. Do you offer doorstep delivery and pickup?
Yes. Complimentary or paid doorstep delivery and pickup may be available depending on the package and RideHost availability.
Q. How many kilometers are included in a booking?
Standard packages include 250 km per day. Rentals of 4 days or more may qualify for unlimited kilometers depending on the package terms.
Q. Can I extend my booking?
Yes. Extension requests must be made before the scheduled return time and are subject to vehicle availability. Extension charges must be paid in advance.
Q. What happens if I keep the vehicle beyond the return time?
Additional rental charges, late return charges, penalties, vehicle recovery costs, and legal action may apply in case of unauthorized extension.
Q. Are all rentals prepaid?
Yes. Self-drive rentals operate on an advance payment basis. All rental charges and approved extension charges must be paid before vehicle usage.
Q. What happens if payment is delayed?
Outstanding rental charges remain payable and a penalty of ₹500 per day may apply until all dues are cleared.
Q. What is the overspeeding policy?
Driving above 120 km/h is prohibited. Repeated overspeeding may attract penalties, and excessive overspeeding may result in booking termination without refund.
Q. Are token payments refundable?
Token payments are generally non-refundable if cancelled by the customer. However, if Karayana or the RideHost cancels the booking, the amount may be refunded or adjusted toward a future booking.
Q. Can I modify my booking after confirmation?
Booking modifications may be allowed subject to vehicle availability and applicable modification charges.
Q. What happens if I return the vehicle early?
No refund is provided for unused rental duration if the vehicle is returned before the scheduled return date and time.
Q. What should I do during vehicle handover?
DriveGuests should capture a complete vehicle video, odometer reading, FASTag details, and complete the official Karayana handover form before starting the trip.
Q. What happens if the booked vehicle becomes unavailable?
Karayana will attempt to arrange a similar alternative vehicle. If no suitable vehicle is available, a refund will be processed as per company policy.
Q. Is smoking allowed inside the vehicle?
No. Smoking, vaping, and use of prohibited substances inside the vehicle are strictly prohibited and may attract cleaning or damage charges.
Q. Can someone else drive the rented vehicle?
Only approved and verified drivers declared during the booking process are permitted to drive the vehicle.
