💰 REFUND, CANCELLATION & TOKEN PAYMENT POLICY

🔐 Security Deposit Refund Policy

A refundable security deposit ranging between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 may be collected before vehicle handover depending on the vehicle category, booking profile, and RideHost requirements.

• The deposit will be refunded within 3–5 business days after successful vehicle return and inspection.
• The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as provided.
• All rental dues, challans, penalties, tolls, damages, and claims must be cleared before refund processing.

Deductions may apply in cases of:

• Vehicle damage or excessive wear and tear.
• Traffic challans or legal violations.
• Late return charges.
• Fuel discrepancies, cleaning charges, or unpaid dues.

💳 Partial Payment / Token Payment Policy

To reserve a vehicle without paying the complete rental amount upfront, DriveGuests may opt for a Partial Payment / Token Payment option.

• Token payments start from ₹500.
• Token payments of ₹500 or less are non-adjustable against the final rental amount.
• Token payments of more than ₹500 shall be adjusted against the final rental amount.
• The remaining balance must be paid before or at the time of vehicle handover.

Token Payment Conditions:

• Token payments are non-refundable if the DriveGuest cancels the booking.
• If Karayana or the RideHost cancels the booking, the token amount shall be refunded or adjusted towards a future booking.

❌ Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by DriveGuest:

• More than 48 Hours Before Pickup: Full refund of booking amount minus applicable payment gateway and processing charges.
• 24–48 Hours Before Pickup: 50% refund of the booking amount.
• Less than 24 Hours Before Pickup: No refund shall be provided.
• Token payments remain non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing.

Cancellation by Karayana or RideHost:

• 100% refund of all amounts received including eligible booking payments.
• Best efforts shall be made to arrange a suitable replacement vehicle.
• If no alternative vehicle is available, a future booking benefit or discount voucher may be provided at Karayana's discretion.

🚗 Alternate Vehicle Policy

If the booked vehicle becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances including breakdown, accident, maintenance requirements, owner cancellation, or operational issues:

• Karayana shall attempt to provide a similar replacement vehicle.
• The replacement vehicle shall be as close as possible in category and specifications.
• Where applicable, special discounted pricing may be offered.
• If no replacement vehicle is available, the applicable booking amount shall be refunded.

📅 Booking Modification Policy

• Booking date or time modifications may be requested up to 24 hours before scheduled pickup.
• All modifications are subject to vehicle availability.
• A modification fee of up to ₹300 may be charged.

⏱️ Early Return Policy

• No refund shall be provided for unused rental duration if the vehicle is returned before the agreed return date and time.
• The full rental amount for the confirmed booking period remains payable.

🚫 No-Show Policy

• If the DriveGuest fails to collect the vehicle at the scheduled pickup time without prior notice, the booking shall be treated as a No-Show.
• No refund shall be applicable for No-Show bookings.
• Karayana reserves the right to release the vehicle for other bookings.

⚖️ Dispute Resolution

• Karayana shall make reasonable efforts to facilitate communication between DriveGuests and RideHosts.
• Refund and cancellation disputes shall be reviewed based on booking records, communication logs, and submitted evidence.
• Karayana's decision after review shall be considered final and binding for platform-related disputes.

💳 PAYMENT, EXTENSION, REFUND & OVERSPEEDING POLICY

⚡ Instant Refund Processing Charges Policy

For customer convenience, Karayana offers instant refund processing upon request. However, instant refunds involve payment gateway, banking, and administrative processing costs.

• Instant refund requests are subject to a processing charge of 5% of the refund amount or ₹500, whichever is higher.
• The processing charge will be deducted before the refund is processed.
• Standard refunds processed as per the regular refund timeline will not attract instant refund processing charges.
• Refund processing charges are non-refundable.

💰 Payment Delay Policy

• All self-drive rentals are prepaid services and rental charges must be paid in advance.
• If payment is not made on time, the outstanding rental amount shall remain payable.
• A penalty of ₹500 per day shall be charged until all outstanding dues are cleared.
• Additional rental charges for the utilized period shall continue to apply.
• Karayana reserves the right to recover the vehicle, suspend services, withhold security deposits, and initiate legal proceedings for recovery of dues.

🚗 Unauthorized Extension Policy

• DriveGuest must inform Karayana before the scheduled return time if an extension is required.
• Extension approval is subject to vehicle availability.
• Extension rental charges must be paid in advance.
• Any extension without approval and payment shall be treated as an Unauthorized Extension.
• Late return charges of ₹300 per hour may apply.
• An additional penalty of ₹500 per day may be imposed.
• Vehicle recovery procedures may be initiated if the vehicle is not returned as agreed.

📵 No Communication from DriveGuest

• Karayana may initiate vehicle tracking and recovery procedures.
• Emergency contacts may be informed.
• Recovery and legal costs shall be borne by the DriveGuest.
• Local authorities may be informed where required.

🏎️ Overspeeding Policy

• Driving above 120 km/h is strictly prohibited.
• First violation may result in a warning.
• Repeated overspeeding violations may attract a penalty of ₹1,000 per occurrence.
• Driving above 140 km/h may attract a penalty of ₹5,000 and immediate termination of the rental without refund.
• Any accident, tyre damage, mechanical damage, insurance rejection, traffic violation, or legal liability arising due to overspeeding shall be solely borne by the DriveGuest.
